Inverted Aspens | The Image That Changed Everything
In 2016 Bobby was at a lab in Flagstaff, Arizona called Hidden Light, making traditional darkroom silver gelatin prints from Negatives, and while he loved this negative on the light table, every time he made the conversion print to a positive image, it just didn’t seem right.
After a couple of days, it finally dawned on him to print the negative as he saw it on the light table. So he used a slide Film printing process, made a print, and his Signature Film Negatives Series was born.
“‘Inverted Aspens’ changed everything. The Film Negatives Series became the summary of my entire career. The rejection at the beginning of my career showing landscapes in an overly saturated landscape market, the constant striving to create something new, to make my own mark on the photographic medium - my legacy finally began to take shape with the Film Negatives Series. And it changed the way I looked at the world.”
