Bobby’s Recommended Presentation | Museum Mount (Floating) Presentation
Growing up on the plains of Oklahoma, Bobby was enamored by the grandiose scenes of the American West, and on a road trip with his father during high school to Yellowstone and the Tetons, his destiny was confirmed. At the age of 22, less than a year after Bobby and his High School sweetheart were married, they embarked on an adventure of their own and moved to Jackson, Wyoming - a place many know as Jackson Hole. Working four 10-hour shifts as an electrician allowed Bobby the freedom three days each week to explore one of the last truly wild landscapes on earth, and it was here that his mentors Scott Mckinley (of National Geographic) and David Brookover (Artist / Owner of the Brookover Gallery) introduced him to the unparalleled resolution and beauty of large format film. It would change his life forever.
Every artist starts their journey following the footsteps of their influences, and it was in this valley where Bobby began his lifelong journey of working with Film, fine tuning his technical skills with a plethora of iconic scenes including this one among the Tetons that Ansel Adams first made famous back in the 1930s. The Overlook along with Colors of June are two of Bobby’s earliest works in which he was finally able to pair technical perfection with magical circumstances, and while his style has evolved drastically over the years, these early landscapes are among the most significant in his development as an artist.
